A national icon in China because of his general selflessness and modesty, People’s Liberation Army soldier Lei Feng serves as the inspiration for this unique colorway of the adidas adiZero Rose 2.5. The army green synthetic upper is pulled from Lei’s uniform, while a faux fur-lined interior is symbolic of his famous five-pointed star hat. Red accents the laces and 3-Stripes wrapped around the heel. Metallic gold surfaces on the upper lace eyelets and adiZero trim. You’ll also notice embossed screw details in reference to a diary entry where Lei declared his humble desire to be a never-rusting screw in China’s revolutionary machine.

The pop group over the last couple of years have achieved a lot of success reaching international status, selling out concerts and winning awards in many different countries. We’ve seen “Wings.” We’ve seen “Bears.” We’ve even seen “Gorillas.” Today, however, is the first time we’ve seen the adidas Originals JS Polka Dot Boot. This pair, which is considered one of the more “normal” looking designs in the Jeremy Scott collection, features a rough tan suede material throughout the majority of the upper with yellow polka dot prints also featured on the majority of the upper. These boots also feature a welt midsole with heavy lug soles as well as brass d-rings and quick release hooks for the laces.

The Adidas AR 2.0 Animal is inspired by the Muppets drummer from the fictitious band “Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.” This sneaker goes all out and its what you would like to see from a special edition sneaker it features an one of kind Disney X Adidas box, that features the faces of some of the Muppets favorite characters like Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and of the Animal. American designer Jeremy Scott continues to roll out bold product selections for his self-titled adidas Originals ObyO collection, especially in the realm of footwear.

For this season, Scott designed a special edition of the JS Wings model for his Asian pop star friends, 2NE1. The popular Korean girl group receives arguably the most over-the-top version of the JS Wings to date, featuring a hodge-podge of colors and materials including bubble gum hues and faux animal fur. The signature wing attachment completes this wild shoe.

The 2NE1 JS Wings are scheduled for a limited public release this November at select adidas ObyO retailers.

Forbes Names Nike The Most Valuable Brand In Sports!

Nike is named #1 on Forbes’s Fab. 40 list of the most valuable names in sports. Forbes released the annual Fab. 40 lists, evaluating the top 10 names in four areas: businesses, events, athletes, and teams. Following Nike in the running includes ESPN, Adidas, Gatorade, and Under Armour.

It comes as no surprise that the Swoosh is placed on top. Nike’s value is upwards $15 billion this year, according to Forbes, a 40% increase from last year. Nike arguably claims the most global of the brands and businesses on the list, leading by a 38% share on the footwear market, and values a 9% increase on the Nike branded apparel (slotted at $5.4 billion), compared to last year’s standings.

The announcement comes after Nike released “The Chosen” campaign in June, 2011, emphasizing the brand’s focus on action sports. Action sports are a $390 million business for Nike, according to Mark G. Parker, Nike’s chief executive and president. According to Kantar Media, Nike spent $108 million in advertising in 2009, and $116 million in 2010. Much of the increase in ad spending has The Chosen campaign to thank.

Last year alone, the Swoosh-branded sales stacked in at $18.1 billion (with a “B”). Of that $18.1 billion, “$7.6 billion were in North America, $3.8 billion came from Western Europe, $2.1 billion from Greater China and $2.7 billion from emerging markets,” says Forbes’ editors.

Joining Nike on the Fab. 40 list includes The Winter Olympic Games, ranked the sixth most powerful sporting event, valued at $123 million; as well as Shawn White, ranked the tenth most influential branded athlete, valued at $7 million.

Disney x Adidas Originals Superstar II Mickey X “Family”

All the talk lately has been about the Disney x Adidas Original Superstar II Mickey’s and why wouldn’t it be because this shoe is so unique from its design to its patterns. As we all know the Disney x Adidas Original Superstar II Mickey’s for adult sizes have a mean and rugged look to them from the Mickey Mouse head on the tongue to the cross bone pattern on the uppers. But what some of you might not know is for the Grade school-Toddler sizes the Disney x Adidas Original Superstar II Mickey’s take on a different persona with a winking/smiling Mickey Mouse head on the heel and Mickey’s hands giving a thumbs up on the lace panel. This is a cool contrast that Adidas did in my opinion showing the innocent side of Mickey in the youth sizes and the wicked side of Mickey in the adult sizes. This sneaker has to be one of Adidas top 10 collabs that i have seen, what do you think?

The latest Adidas X Star Wars sneaker is the Adidas Superstar II Star Wars Rogue Squadron Rebel Alliance. This sneaker takes its inspiration from the Rogue Squadron which was founded by Luke Skywalker and fought in many Galactic Civil War battles. The Adidas Superstar II Star Wars Rogue Squadron Rebel Alliance features Nylon Grey toned camo print uppers with a Black leather lace panel. This sneaker also features an Orange lining with black stripes, 3M Adidas stripes, and 3M heel tab. Star wars insignia can be seen on the tongue that reads “Rogue Squadron”, on the heel panel that features the Rebel Alliance crest, and on the heel tab. Check out the detailed photos below!

Sneaker Con NYC 2011 Recap!

It felt like sneaker head heaven in Soho this weekend at Sneaker Con. From hard to find kicks, to dope music, to lovely ladies, sneaker con is always memorable and amazing place to be. A great turn out occurred this past weekend the lines were huge circling the block and people kept coming in even after 7 the time sneaker con was suppose to end. During sneaker con even before the doors opened we had to show love to all the people waiting to get in line. We gave everyone in line Citysole bags so they could carry their sneakers and Citysole stickers for coming out and supporting the sneaker movement. For those of you who went to sneaker con in Nyc and saw our table thank you for showing us love and letting us talk to you.
