A strong argument can be made for LeBron James staying in Ohio once his contract is up just a few months from now. He has strong ties to his hometown, evidenced by a number of Nike LeBron colourways for Ohio-based academic institutions. Here are some newer images of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) University of Akron colourway featuring a navy upper and gold trim with the Akron mascot logo on the inner achilles. This is the third LeBron shoe with Akron colourways (the LeBron VI and LeBron Soldier III being the others) but how many more will release might be contingent upon which court King James chooses to rule. The Akron LeBron VII will release this Saturday, February 27th!

Two weeks ago we took a look at the Nike Air Max LeBron VII “University of Kentucky”, a specially designed PE model of the LeBron VII produced for the Kentucky Wildcats to rock with their Nike uniforms. Just in case some of the players prefer a lower cut shoe Nike and Lebron James put together a Kentucky version of the Air Max LeBron VII Low in school colors of White and Blue with the University “UK” logo featured on the tongue. I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the LeBron VII Low in general but this Kentucky Wildcats version is pretty clean.

This year American Airlines Center, the home of the Dallas Mavericks will play host to the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend. Since tip-off for the weekend’s festivities are about a month away some pictures have started to suface of All-Star themed releases from varies footwear companies, as they do every year around this time.
We’ve seen a few things for adidas and now we have a look at an Air Max Lebron VII which Lebron James is expected to take to the court in on February 14th when the 2010 NBA All-Star Game goes down. The Nike Air Max Lebron VII “All-Star Game 2010″ uses almost a completely blue design from top to bottom, besides for slight accents of black thrown in here and there to break up the color a bit. Besides for the choice of color, the obvious eye catcher on these sneakers is the mudguard and toe box area which feature a woodgrain pattern which surely gives the sneakers a unique look. Seen on the blue insoles is a brown “East 2010″ shield patch to signify Lebron playing for the Eastern Conference.
