Forbes Names Nike The Most Valuable Brand In Sports!

Nike is named #1 on Forbes’s Fab. 40 list of the most valuable names in sports. Forbes released the annual Fab. 40 lists, evaluating the top 10 names in four areas: businesses, events, athletes, and teams. Following Nike in the running includes ESPN, Adidas, Gatorade, and Under Armour.

It comes as no surprise that the Swoosh is placed on top. Nike’s value is upwards $15 billion this year, according to Forbes, a 40% increase from last year. Nike arguably claims the most global of the brands and businesses on the list, leading by a 38% share on the footwear market, and values a 9% increase on the Nike branded apparel (slotted at $5.4 billion), compared to last year’s standings.

The announcement comes after Nike released “The Chosen” campaign in June, 2011, emphasizing the brand’s focus on action sports. Action sports are a $390 million business for Nike, according to Mark G. Parker, Nike’s chief executive and president. According to Kantar Media, Nike spent $108 million in advertising in 2009, and $116 million in 2010. Much of the increase in ad spending has The Chosen campaign to thank.

Last year alone, the Swoosh-branded sales stacked in at $18.1 billion (with a “B”). Of that $18.1 billion, “$7.6 billion were in North America, $3.8 billion came from Western Europe, $2.1 billion from Greater China and $2.7 billion from emerging markets,” says Forbes’ editors.

Joining Nike on the Fab. 40 list includes The Winter Olympic Games, ranked the sixth most powerful sporting event, valued at $123 million; as well as Shawn White, ranked the tenth most influential branded athlete, valued at $7 million.

It felt like sneaker head heaven in Soho this weekend at Sneaker Con. From hard to find kicks, to dope music, to lovely ladies, sneaker con is always memorable and amazing place to be. A great turn out occurred this past weekend the lines were huge circling the block and people kept coming in even after 7 the time sneaker con was suppose to end. During sneaker con even before the doors opened we had to show love to all the people waiting to get in line. We gave everyone in line Citysole bags so they could carry their sneakers and Citysole stickers for coming out and supporting the sneaker movement. For those of you who went to sneaker con in Nyc and saw our table thank you for showing us love and letting us talk to you. For those who don’t know these Reebok pumps are inspired by artist Jean-Michel Basquiat who rose to prominence in the 1980’s New York art scene from the streets as a graffiti artist and for his work with world famous artist Andy Warhol. These kicks feature a white/black colorway adorned of course with the classic “Basquiat” look and mood. The tongue’s Pump features Basquiat’s crown emblem, while the heels feature another crown on the left shoe and a black pen-like scribbles dappled on the right shoe.

Picking up where the ‘Full Metallic Jacket’ New Balance super-collab with madhectic, Stussy and Undefeated left off, here’s the new Kubrick Pack of Reebok Pump Omni Lites. A black and red pair does a great job of conveying the feel of certain parts of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 (the theme was/is Ric Flair’s theme song), while the Full Metal Jacket joints are decidedly less intense than their violent inspiration. Don’t shoot yourself in the head if you can’t get these; they’re limited and we’ll keep you posted on a possible stateside release

Reebok Talkin’ Krazy II “Harlem Globetrotters”

Last October we reported on the Reebok Above the Rim (ATR) Talkin’ Krazy, which actually is designed to allow you to write on the sneaker itself with the use of a dry-erase marker. Reebok has since then designed the Reebok Talkin’ Krazy II, which has been equipped with Hexride technology. The colorway pictured here was designed for the Harlem Globetrotters and draws inspiration from there American-theme basketball uniforms. Although these are a very patriotic pair of sneakers, don’t expect these to release to the general public. However, we will update you with respect to any changes made to this colorway or possible future ones.

The Reebok Pump Omni Lite saw plenty of nice releases last year in 2009, including the whole 7 Deadly Sins Pack and the retro Dee Brown Pump Omni Lite releases. 2010 is for sure to be another strong year for the Omni Lite as well as other models as Reebok brings back some more of their older models, introduces a few new ones and give us plenty of new colorways of models already in their lineup, such as the Pump Omni Lite.

Shown here is one of the latest Reebok Pump Omni Lite colorups to be released which are a follow up to a pair of gold/black Omni Lite’s released the other week. As if being snow blind this time of year wasn’t enough Reebok fashioned these Omni Lite’s with a blinding metallic silver upper in smooth leather and perforated leather which is sure to have your retina’s burnin. A texture leather is used for the grey paneling around the toe, with an added hit of grey on the plastic pieces and the Pump unit on the top of the tongue. I don’t know if i could rock these this time of year when the ground is covered in snow, but as a Spring/Summer sneaker these would be pretty dope.

Unbelievable spin on the classic reebok pump. Stolen Riches, hailing out of Toronto, Canada, is a sneaker boutique with exclusive and high end kicks. The sneaker shop has collaborated with Reebok as part of the Reebok Pump 20 collection. The sneaker is built for winter with pinstripe Teflon upper making it snow and water repellant. The shoe features a white midsole and black outsole. Yellow name tag and pump pop on the shoe’s mute, but cool design.

Anniversary Reebok Pump, and Solebox was lucky enough to get in on it.
The shoe
features bungee cord laces, premium black leather, glow in the dark
eyelets and memory foam on the tongue this Pump, factors which
definitely make it unique. They are slated to release at Solebox on

Today, Reebok is slated to release one of their newest designs, which is actually a collaboration with HELLZ. The silhouette of choice is the Reebok Top Down, which yields a high top design, along with a heavily perforated upper designed in black and white, hues, all of which sits atop a classic white sole. Within the past two weeks, we have seen a plethora of Reebok Pump sneakers. We should expect to spot even more seeing that this is the Pump’s 20th year anniversary. With that said, Reebok is set to release this Pump Court Victory 2 Pack during the holiday season.

One pair will feature a solid blue leather base mixed with black details on the toe area, inner lining and tongue. The other sneaker owns a 100% red premium leather base with the same black accents. Check out citysole for new products
